Advertising and Consumerism Encroaching on Boriken
Encroachment
Mixed-Media
50 in. x 50 in.
2012

One of my biggest pet-peeves is excessive advertising and pollution. In New York City, everywhere you look, there is an ad of some sort, even in front of urinals in restaurants and bars. Fifty foot signs advertising cognac, watches, cars, y cuanta madre hay.

This painting reflects that encroachment of ads coming onto my ancestors island. I remain optimistic because there is still some nature and culture left. There is still hope for a better future away from these commercial encroachments and ways to be closer to nature as it should be.

Pal carajo with excessive advertising coño!
